Stakeholders

The Central Texas Regional ITS Architecture resulted from the consensus input of a diverse set of stakeholders, encompassing traffic, transit, public safety, and many other operating agencies at local, regional, and state levels. It includes both public and private sectors and spans the organizations that manage, support, or are impacted by the surface transportation system, with particular focus on agencies that operate transportation systems in the region.

CAMPOCapital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) is the metropolitan planning organization for Central Texas that currently includes Bastrop, Burnett, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson Counties.
CapMetroCapital Metropolitan Transportation Authority (CapMetro) provides fixed route and paratransit services in the City of Austin and several surrounding jurisdictions.
CARTSCapital Area Rural Transportation System (CARTS) provides fixed route, commuter route, and demand response transit services in portions of Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays, Lee, Travis, and Williamson Counties.
City of AustinMunicipal government for the City of Austin. Includes both traffic and maintenance sections for the City.
City of Austin and Travis CountyTransportation response coordination services for Travis County, including the City of Austin.
Commercial Vehicle Fleet OperationsPrivate commercial vehicle operations that operate within the Region.
CTRMACentral Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA) is responsible for the construction, maintenance, and operation of several toll roads in the Region including 183 Toll, 183A Toll, 290 Toll, 45 SW Toll, 71 Toll Lane, and MoPac Express Lane.
Independent School DistrictPublic school districts within the Central Texas region.
Municipality/CountyMunicipalities and counties located within the Region that are not specifically called out by the ITS architecture. (i.e. City of Round Rock, City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Hays County, etc.)

Rail OperationsCompanies that operate freight rail within the Central Texas region.
SH 130 Concession CompanyThe State Highway 130 Concession Company is responsible for the maintenance and operation of segments 5 and 6 of SH 130, in the southeast portion of the Central Texas region.
Texas DPSTexas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is the State public safety agency whose responsibilities include issuing Amber Alerts, patrolling state highways, and assisting in statewide emergency management operations.
TxDOT Austin DistrictAustin District of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). Includes traffic, maintenance, and planning and programming. The District includes Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Gillespie, Hays, Lee, Llano, Mason, Travis, and Williamson Counties.
University of TexasThe University of Texas at Austin (UT). Includes all departments of the University, including the UT events department, the UT Police Department, and the UT Center for Transportation Research (CTR).
